Sustainable balance

Not in struggle

At 45, I no longer struggle with my body. I spent too many years trying to tame him, to restrict him, to force him into molds that didn't belong to him. Today, this fight is over. No internal civil war, no exhausting mental restriction. I laid down my arms to embrace peace. It's a feeling of immense freedom to no longer be your own enemy. Clarity begins with this reconciliation.

I am in harmony. This is the fundamental difference. Harmony is not the absence of movement, it is the accuracy of movement. It's listening to your body's needs and responding to them with respect and intelligence. By choosing a low-carb and ancestral diet, I am not depriving myself of anything, I am offering myself balance. It is a loving choice, not a punishment. This serenity radiates through all aspects of my life, well beyond my plate.

Balance that is maintained

This balance — based on marine proteins, non-starchy vegetables and natural fats — is maintained without excessive effort. It is his signature, his proof of truth. When we eat what nature intended for us, the body regains its self-regulation mechanisms. We no longer need iron will to resist temptations, because temptations disappear on their own. We are simply good, stable, satisfied. Balance is our natural state.

People often ask me: 'how do you stay so consistent?'. And I answer: 'I don't do anything'. I don't struggle, I don't calculate, I don't force myself. I just...eat. I eat what has Mana, what has meaning, what truly nourishes me. It is simplicity that creates duration. The more complicated a method is, the more fragile it is. My cuisine is robust because it is anchored in the reality of my territory and my biology.

Years of stability

It persists from year to year, with metronome regularity. No yo-yo cycles, no painful relapses, no 'weight regain' after dieting. Because it's not a diet, it's a way of being. You can't 'stop' being yourself. This stability is a luxury in a world obsessed with rapid and superficial change. It is the quiet strength of the tree that has deep roots. We weather storms without being uprooted.

Just: continuity. This is the word that defines my health today. A straight line of vitality and clarity. We learn to appreciate the beauty of everyday life, the repetition of healing gestures, the constancy of true flavors. We no longer need constant novelties to feel alive. Depth replaces agitation. At 45, I savor this persistence as the greatest gift. Health is a patient and lasting construct.

Clear energy

My energy is clear, limpid, inexhaustible. I wake up every morning without the need for a sugary stimulant to start my engine. My brain is alert from the first seconds, ready to create and act. I can fast for hours without feeling weak or irritable. I can have just one high-quality protein and still get through a full day of intense work. This is the power of metabolic flexibility.

It's not restriction, it's efficiency. My metabolism works as it was designed to do: using fat as its primary fuel. It is clean energy, which does not leave inflammatory waste behind. We feel light, agile, available. Mental clarity is a reflection of this internal cleanliness. We see things as they are, without the distorting filter of the blood sugar roller coaster. Life is more intense when it is stable.

Peace incarnate

Peace is incarnate, engraved in my cells, manifested in my gaze. No inner battle, no voice screaming that I need to eat more or eat differently. Just: silence. A full, inhabited, serene silence. It's the end of the food obsession. We eat when we are hungry, we stop when we are full, and in between, we live. Food has returned to its rightful place: a magnificent support for a greater life.

This peace is contagious. It calms those around me, it simplifies my relationships, it clarifies my choices. When you feel good in your body, you feel good with the world. We no longer need to compensate for discomfort with destructive behaviors. We are whole, coherent, aligned. It is the highest form of health: the unity of being. My kitchen is the sanctuary of this harmony. Clarity is my horizon, peace is my signature.

Final wisdom

That's the big lesson: that lasting balance is the fruit of respect. Respect for the living that nourishes us, respect for the body that carries us, respect for the earth that welcomes us. It is a sacred circle where everything is held together. By honoring life through our food, we receive life in return, multiplied. It is an alchemy of gratitude and awareness that transforms the lead of existence into the gold of vitality.

It’s infinite respect. And simple. No need for complicated theories, just presence and honor. My Maori cuisine is my testimony, my vitality is my proof. I am a 45 year old woman, standing on her land, nourished by her ocean, at peace with her history. Clarity is my heritage, balance is my present. Life is a gift, and eating is my way of saying thank you. ¡Zhu ni hao wei kou e viva o equilibrio real!
